Healthy Habits

Everyday tips for better sleep

Good sleep habits help everyone rest better. They don't replace treatment for a sleep disorder, but they make a real difference.

1

Keep a steady schedule

Go to bed and wake up at similar times every day โ€” weekends too.

2

Wind down first

Give yourself 30โ€“60 calm minutes away from bright screens and work.

3

Make the room cosy

Cool, dark and quiet. Keep the bed for sleep and rest.

4

Mind caffeine & alcohol

Skip afternoon caffeine and limit alcohol, which worsens snoring.

5

Get daylight & move

Morning light and regular activity help set a healthy sleep rhythm.

6

Go easy at dinner

Avoid large, heavy meals close to bedtime; a light snack is fine.

Good Questions

Frequently asked

How is sleep apnea diagnosed?
Sleep apnea and other sleep disorders are diagnosed with a sleep study โ€” either an overnight in-lab study (polysomnography) or a home sleep study. It records your breathing, oxygen levels, heart rate and sleep stages so our specialists can see how often your sleep is disrupted.
Should I choose an in-lab or home sleep study?
Both give medical-grade results. An in-lab study offers the most detailed monitoring under specialist oversight, while a home study lets you sleep in your own bed with a lightweight device. Our team will advise which suits your situation.
What are the treatment options?
It depends on your diagnosis. Options can include lifestyle changes, CPAP therapy (a device that gently keeps your airway open with air), oral appliances, and other personalised treatments. Your care is medically directed and tailored to your history and goals.
Do I need a referral?
You're welcome to reach out to our team directly to ask about a sleep assessment and the next steps. Contact us by WhatsApp or email below and we'll guide you.
Is snoring always sleep apnea?
Not always โ€” plenty of people snore without OSA. But loud, habitual snoring with pauses, gasping or daytime tiredness is worth checking. A sleep assessment can tell the difference.
